WWDC 2010

My second time to WWDC and my first time to see Steve job on stage LIVE. Being the second time in WWDC things are less exciting for me. On top of that being traveling extensively this year doesn’t make this trip any more pleasant but “hey is work…”. Before you go any further, I need to clarify I still love Apple a lot… I still see Apple as the best tech company. This post if in any way shows I am not happy is kinda of like a husband whining about his wife. I am not divorcing with my Apple products

This year WWDC is unique in 2 ways. First the product that is going to be the focus is leaked. Second there is a massive technical error in the Keynote. iPhone4 is really sexy and likely I will get one but still a little debating should I join the Android camp for Internet Tethering to my iPad.  The “One more thing” being Facetime is just weak, first we all know there is a front facing camera and it can only be for video communication. Second Video communication on mobile is not like it has never been done… 5 or 6 years I ago I have been video calling my ex already… and thats LONG LONG time ago man.

The Wifi hiccup is also pretty lame in 2 ways. First how many seat do the main hall have? 600 something device connecting and your Wifi fail? u should be expecting EVERYONE will be connecting. Your demo machine should be using a separate and dedicated line. The jokes, well is funny first time, second, third and fourth…

The event itself first I did prefer the last year attendee’s welcome gift which is a very cool and nicely made backpack. This year is a windbreaker which is very warm and soft. The souvenir shop is a bit weak only 1 poorly over priced exclusive WWDC item yet I still brought 2 (*Cough Sucker). The conference is somehow I believe to be more iPhone focus then before and there are a couple gaming focus sessions and labs.  Parties like last year is hosted again in that few venues. Meeting happens around Marriott, W and Intercon. Same crowd with more to share Overall is a nice conference, if I am less exhausted and  frustrated with certain incidents it should be better then the one last time.

All I want now is to go home… solve the incidents and move on.
