iPhone 4.0 and my thoughts.

iPhone 4.0 is finally out in the wild. If you still don’t have a good idea what it does go to Engadget or Gizmodo to read about it. Now assuming you do here are my humble thoughts of the event. The event started basically like all Apple event, lots of boasting on their recent success. Steve then jumps out with the big word: Multitasking, this alone basically make Steve looks like a Santa. Immediately on Twitter I see tons if tweet rejoicing over it. Then follow by bunch of small gifts to solidify the image he is try to pull off. At the lasted part, he then bring out his scythe while most of the world is still star struck with Steve’s jolly red gift sack. He first started chopping the heads of the smaller guys like Openfeint, Scoreloop, Plus+ and Crystal with Game Center. Then he move onto the big kill- Admob/Google, the showcase of iAd is basically like a sonic speed dance while Steve’s middle finger is held up through out the dance. I will like to focus on this part as it is the best part of the whole event.

Steve: we thinks most of this kind of ad sucks. = Admob I can’t buy you therefore you suck.

Steve: Search is not happening on phone = f-u Google no one searches on phones.

Steve: Today when you click on banner ad, it yanks you out of your apps. Some people don’t click on them. = advertiser don’t believe in the crap Admob is telling you see what I can do! Question however is how is Apple ad not different then other app, at the end of the day my user is serial distracted.

Steve: because iAd is in the iPhone OS = is all mines! All the ad money is mine! Admob and the rest of you get the f out the party is over and all the girls are mine!

The demo is then basically the sonic middle finger dance I mention above. With a finishing line almost like ones in mortal combat – Finish him… Steve: is your mind blown yet, I think he actually are asking people who is sitting in Google office “have you guys blown your brain out yet?”

I must admit after this event I have a new respect to Steve Jobs this super sonic middle finger dance are played so beautifully. Then the whole massacre he just did to the social gaming platforms are done right in front of the world while most people don’t even know what had happen. Nevertheless this 4.0 OS is great news for iPhone users and also great news for dev as it shows Apple is going to continue be the dominating platform in the space.
