Chinese idiom #1: 用人不疑, 疑人不用

PhAInfant QuestioningFace

This is my first attempt to start this so don’t judge me :P

Today’s idiom is the idiom which have accompany me since the day I work. 用人不疑, 疑人不用 – If you going to or working with someone don’t doubt him, if you have doubt about him don’t work with him.

This is a very simple idiom yet is very true and deep. A few years back, I realize in life there are way too many dramas. While you need to struggle each day to fend off these dramas. I ask myself, other then fighting drama which I can’t control, lets limit the drama I can create for myself. So I sit down and analyze what drama one can create for oneself most… the answer was: doubting people around myself. When you start doubting a person, you start thinking of how he can screw you, how you need to counter act if he did this and that… this seems simple, yet when you are surrounded by hundred of people everyday… if every doubt you gave it 5 mins to strategize. That is 500 minutes equivalent approximately 8 hours basically 1 work day. Thats no life…

So I start a new chapter of my life… cutting (almost) every person that I am have doubt of. People that I do not doubt, I give them free hand and even bring them closer to me. Result, I have some very good partners in life and work. I drastically reduce the amount of drama I have each day, boosted my productivity since I have more time and created a great circle of trusted friends. Also I have more time to spend on my quality friends or partners.
