Chinese Wedding

Yesterday I attended a Chinese wedding… Technically my first one since I m an adult… The one last time I was KIA before the dinner.

Anyway I think all these traditions are pretty pointless n generic everyone is doing the same thing. So here is some of the stuff I learn from this wedding…

  • No long speech… nothing more then 3-5 mins… so better not let Dad go up… or if so prepare his speech…
  • Start to end (dinner) nothing more then 150 mins…
  • Either Kowloon side or Hong Kong side… no NT
  • Should let people go by 2230
  • Thoughtful and USEFUL gift… why will anyone wants a hand winded music box or tiny salt/pepper bottle? some good ideas…
    • Mark Six ticket with the wedding date…
    • Candies, Chocolate, snacks… Jellybean
  • No stupid performance… well is touching but singing 家好月圆 theme song with human beat box… ehh too much plus too copy cat
  • Pet friendly (since we have JB and Siu B)
  • After party… the idea is good but only good if most guest is under 25… and even so not in a hotel’s bar…
  • Seriously food in hotel seems lousy… should look into other options…
  • Video… I don’t know where to start but I can do a better job in Keynote in 2 hours… serious…
  • BG Music… try something different but still romantic… ie: Star War Love Theme? FF Love songs… those are GOOD MUSIC!

Anyway very likely is a oversea wedding so everything we learn might not be applicable, but hey who knows… better drop it down.
