Chinese Wedding
Yesterday I attended a Chinese wedding… Technically my first one since I m an adult… The one last time I was KIA before the dinner.
Anyway I think all these traditions are pretty pointless n generic everyone is doing the same thing. So here is some of the stuff I learn from this wedding…
- No long speech… nothing more then 3-5 mins… so better not let Dad go up… or if so prepare his speech…
- Start to end (dinner) nothing more then 150 mins…
- Either Kowloon side or Hong Kong side… no NT
- Should let people go by 2230
- Thoughtful and USEFUL gift… why will anyone wants a hand winded music box or tiny salt/pepper bottle? some good ideas…
- Mark Six ticket with the wedding date…
- Candies, Chocolate, snacks… Jellybean
- No stupid performance… well is touching but singing 家好月圆 theme song with human beat box… ehh too much plus too copy cat
- Pet friendly (since we have JB and Siu B)
- After party… the idea is good but only good if most guest is under 25… and even so not in a hotel’s bar…
- Seriously food in hotel seems lousy… should look into other options…
- Video… I don’t know where to start but I can do a better job in Keynote in 2 hours… serious…
- BG Music… try something different but still romantic… ie: Star War Love Theme? FF Love songs… those are GOOD MUSIC!
Anyway very likely is a oversea wedding so everything we learn might not be applicable, but hey who knows… better drop it down.
